As one of the “Top 25 Golf Schools in America” with the “Best Teacher in Hawaii” as its director of instruction, Kapalua Golf Academy offers a state-of-the-art golf facility unmatched in Hawai‘i. The Academy features 85,000 square feet of grass teeing area, several practice putting greens, greenside and fairway bunkers, an 18-hole putting course, numerous target greens and three specialty short game areas. In addition, it features a 2,500-square foot center housing classroom instruction, video taping and physical training. Kapalua Resort’s staff of PGA Professionals, the largest in the state, offers a wide array of instruction.
Instructional programs utilize the indoor/outdoor instruction bay, computerized video for swing and putting analysis, a teeing area with practice stations for all-weather instruction as well as the golf courses. Programs include: individual instruction, golf schools, corporate and daily clinics. The three-day comprehensive golf school benefits players of all skill levels. This extensive training addresses putting, chipping, bunker play, full-swing digital video analysis and on-course instruction. A two-day player’s golf school is designed for the more experienced player at 12 handicap or less. Instruction focuses on reading greens and shot selection, specialty and scoring shots, practice management, psychology of playing along with a complete digital video analysis.

Instruction is tailored to the individual needs of each student, relating to physical characteristics and learning styles. It is beneficial to all levels of players, from a person picking up a club for the first time to someone wishing to cut a 15 handicap in half. For the most personalized experience, a golf school guarantees a maximum 4-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio with a maximum of 12 students in the class.
