SURFING GOAT DAIRY

Visiting the award-winning Surfing Goat Dairy is a fun and unique Maui experience for the whole family.

If you have a heart for animals and enjoy watching, petting and feeding them, visit the “Goats in Paradise” at the state-of-the-art, working Surfing Goat Dairy in Kula.

The Cheese and Specialty Shop at the dairy carries over 25 different cheeses including 11 National Award Winners. The freshly made cheeses are always available for tasting and purchase along with light snacks, beverages and specialties like jams, relishes and fresh fruits.

Inexpensive “Casual Tours” of the farm operation are offered daily. You need no reservations, just stop by during Business Hours (Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 10am-2pm). The last tour starts 1 hour before closing.

During the “Evening Chores Tours” you bring in the milking herd, hand milk a goat and feed goats. These tours start at 3:15 only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays.

Grand Tours, every other Saturday at 9am, are a 3-hour experience. Feed and milk a goat, see the cheese making process. Then sit down under the coconut trees and sample most of the cheeses produced at the dairy.

To find the dairy, just take Hana Hwy east from Kahului to Pulehu Road, continue to the “Y” with Omaopio Road, and bear left on Omaopio 1.9 miles until you see the surfboard entrance sign to your right at 3651 Omaopio Road in Kula.
