Kaanapali Golf Resort

Kaanapali Beach Resort is rich in history and tradition. Built on the playgrounds of ancient Hawaiian royalty, the golf resort is situated on 1200 acres with panoramic views of both the Pacific Ocean and West Maui Mountains from most vantage points. Home of the Kaanapali Champions Skins Game (2008-2011) and Big Break Kaanapali (Golf Channel 2008), the Royal Kaanapali Course also hosted Shell's Wonderful World of Golf, the Canada Cup and LPGA Kemper Open, donning such golfing greats like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Jan Stephenson and Betsy King. The Royal Kaanapali Course, a Trent Jones Senior design, opened in 1962 and has tested the skills of golf professionals and amateurs alike. In the fall of 2006, this challenging course received a nip/tuck renovation by renowned golf course architect, Robin Nelson. Nelson helped to design all new bunkering and resurfaced the greens with Tif Eagle, a Bermuda hybrid. Combining wide fairways and undulating greens, the Royal Kaanapali Course is both distinctive and demanding. The Kaanapali Kai, originally a Par 3 executive course (Arthur Jack Snyder design) was also recently renovated (2005). A par 70, this course combines narrow fairways and a deft touch around the greens. With four sets of tees ranging from 6400 to 4500 yards, this course is perfect for all levels of play. Many of the holes are nestled into the West Maui Mountains and have beautiful panoramic views of the neighboring islands. Kaanapali's Golf & Resort Shop offers a unique shopping experience – from sandals and beach towels to traditional golf apparel and logo items, you'll find everything you need to take home with you from your unforgettable Kaanapali vacation.
