WYLAND GALLERIES

Wyland Galleries AdMarine Life Artist Wyland has earned the distinction as one of America’s most unique creative influences, and a leading advocate for marine resource conservation. An accomplished painter, sculptor, photographer, writer, and SCUBA diver, he has traveled the farthest reaches of the globe for more than twenty-five years, capturing the raw power and beauty of the undersea universe. His non-profit Wyland Foundation has supported numerous conservation programs since 1993, including Wyland’s monumental Whaling Wall mural project—an epic series of more than ninety-one life size marine life murals that spans twelve countries on four continents, and is viewed by an estimated 1 billion people every year. Wyland’s goal is to paint 100 murals in 100 cities by 2011. He’s been called a “Marine Michaelangelo” by USA Today, however the large murals are only part of Wyland’s work, which includes sculpture and smaller paintings, some of which can be seen at his Front Street gallery. Don’t miss this unique chance to experience one of the most influential marine life artists of all time. Also featuring in the gallery renowned artists: Barton, Pitre, Quartly, Warren, Noelito, Maiden, Power, and Walfrido. 711 Front Street, Lahaina, (808) 924-1322.
